Family/Fun Friday 28.10.16
What a fantastic day we had in school today! We had a great turn out for family Friday. Thank you to those of you who could make it and for those who couldn’t please do not worry as this is a monthly activity.
I am extremely proud of each and every child in Junior Infants. It was wonderful this week to sit back and look at the progress they have made since beginning their journey in school. You should all be very proud as I’m sure you are. Enjoy your well deserved break everyone and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday the 7th of November.

A Visit from Our Hedgehogs 12.10.16
We have been learning about nocturnal animals in class. What a surprise we got this morning when we came into our class to find our clay hedgehogs sleeping as it was daytime but, last night they had a party last night in our classroom. Even Incy Wincy Spider, Busy Bee and the Tiger Who Came to tea were there!
Number 1 and Number 2
We have been learning about the number 1 and 2 this week. We have been learning to write the number 1 and 2, we learned rhymes to help us with this. We also sorted lots of things in our class into groups of 1 and 2.
Rosh Hashanah 3.10.16
We learned all about Rosh Hashanah in class which is celebrated this year on October 3rd. Jewish people eat apples dipped in honey and wish each other a ‘sweet’ New Year.
Ordinal Numbers
We had great fun learning our ordinal numbers this week. We used the interactive whiteboard to help us learn the words first and last. We then raced each other for fun!
Patterns
We have also been learning about patterns in maths. We found lots of patterns in the clothes we wear and the world around us. We played snap with patterns and made animal patterns in Art. We also read the story of ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. We absolutely loved it!
