We have been working hard with our ‘Maths mates’ this month. We were delighted when we opened our new maths resources which included numicom and cuisenaire rods. It was great fun exploring them and making up new games we can play. We have been learning how to count in 2s and 10s, number patterns and how to add tens and units. These new resources will be a great help with all of this while being good fun too.
We have been very lucky to have Máire Lynam in our classroom every Wednesday afternoon. She has brought along her guitar and we have really enjoyed learning new songs and singing some old ones too.
Other visitors have included John, Donal’s Dad and Trevor, Cara’s Dad. They told us all about their jobs and we may have some future Air sea rescue paramedics and road engineers in First Class. We really appreciate hearing about different jobs and how they contribute to the community. We are looking forward to hearing from more parents over the next few weeks. If you are interested in coming in to talk about your job, please ring the school and book a slot. Much appreciated.
